Adult Mental Health Training - Two-Day Course

Developed by Lit Within, this unique two-day course focuses on mental health and covers mental illness. Delegates will get a deep understanding of what mental health is and the hidden factor that is overlooked by 99% of mental health courses today. The course teaches the foundation of mental health, delegates receive practical skills to spot the signs of mental illness and gives them the confidence to step in and support a person who needs assistance.


Who should attend?

This course is suitable for those who want to gain clarity on what mental health is and how to support it in the workplace. Developing the necessary skills to have a non-judgmental conversation, recognise the signs and symptoms of common workplace mental health issues and effectively guide a person towards the right support.


Please be aware that this course focuses on employees in the workplace and covers subjects that some people may find distressing, including suicide and self-harm. If a delegate feels overwhelmed they can leave the course at any time.

However, if you feel in advance that this subject may be too distressing for the delegate please do not book them on without first asking them whether they would feel comfortable attending. What you will learn


You will gain a clearer understanding the principles of Human Experience which are the key components of mental health.

HX mental health training allows participants to see the psychological misunderstanding that leads to mental illnesss. The beginning of seeing the common donomitor of all human suffereing, practical non-judgemental listening skills and self-care. The course covers the symptoms and coping mechanisms below:

  • Anxiety disorders

  • Stigma and discrimination  

  • Personality disorders

  • Eating disorders

  • Depression  

  • Self-harm

  • Psychosis

  • Schizophrenia

  • Suicide


Human Coping Mechanisms

  • Alcohol

  • Drugs


Course duration

Two days.



There is no formal assessment for this course but delegates must complete all sections of the course.



On completion of the course, delegates will receive a HX level 1 Mental Health Certificate.
